The Barolo del Comune di Monforte d'Alba DOCG is produced by Diego Conterno , a small winery that has accustomed us to exclusive labels faithful to the peculiarities of the territory. We are in the heart of the Langhe, a few kilometers from Cuneo, in one of the most suitable areas of the region. The grape variety used is Nebbiolo, cultivated with the simple guyot system, along a hill which enjoys an excellent southern exposure. This is a very important element: the climate is cool but open to warm currents arriving from the southern side of the region. The soil is well drained and rich in calcareous marl and tuff, two elements that give a subtle acidity to the bunches. During the harvest, the grapes are carefully selected and hand-picked in crates. In the cellar the must macerates for 30 days in steel, it ages for 30 months in wooden barrels and for another 6 in the bottle. The Barolo del Comune di Monforte d'Alba DOCG Conterno , characterized by a good structure, is a ready-to-drink red that evolves in an interesting way if stored correctly in the cellar.
