Bas Armagnac Vieille Relique is the flagship of the historic maison Samalens, one of the most popular distilleries in the Occitan territory. This typical distillate from the south of France is one of the traditional national products, with a characteristic manufacturing process that generates an inimitable taste. At the basis of Armagnac are wines produced exclusively with indigenous grape varieties of southern France, such as Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche and Colombard. The manufacturing process is carried out with a low-yield and continuous jet still, called alambic armagnaçais. The name "vieille relique" makes it clear what the value of this armagnac could be. In fact, it is aged for 19 years in oak barrels from the Gascon region. The personality and structure that derive from this very long aging process are, therefore, valued to the maximum. Bas Armagnac Vieille Relique is a perfect distillate for meditation on the sofa, to be enjoyed strictly while reading a good book.
