Bas Armagnac Single 15 ans d'age is one of the important distillates in the range proposed by Samalens, an important distillery located in the south of France. Founded in the late nineteenth century by Jean Samalens in Laujuzan, near Bordeaux, the maison is best known for the production of the traditional Armagnac. Therefore, this valuable variant aged for 15 years and made from Ugni Blanc grapes, the French Trebbiano, is no exception. The best grapes are left to ripen until they reach the right sugar level. Once brought to the company and destemmed, distillation begins, which develops in two phases to give the liqueur great softness. 50% of Armagnac follows the double process, while the other 50% is worked according to the continuous method, through the traditional plate still called armagnaçais. The result of the long aging in oak barrels is Bas Armagnac Single 15 ans d'age, a liqueur with a decidedly important structure and rich in nuances. It has an amber, almost brownish gold colour. It is particularly viscous and is distinguished by a large aromatic concentration. On the palate it is soft and enhances the balsamic notes. The finish is long and intense. Really exciting.
