Bas Armagnac VS is one of the excellences proposed by the Samalens maison, a famous distillery located in the Occitan territory. The French manufacturer has been active since the end of the 20th century in Laujuzan, a town just south of Bordeaux, making excellent distillates such as the traditional Armagnac. This distillate, typical of Gascony and Occitania, is produced from Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche and Baco Blanc blends. The mild climate of southern France, together with the fresh breezes blowing from the Atlantic, allows for the development of strong and tasty bunches. Once the grapes have reached the right degree of ripeness, they are selected and then pressed once in the company. For the distillation of Armagnac, the traditional alembique armagnaçais is used, with the resulting brandy left to rest for several months in Gascony oak barrels.
