'Dorilli' Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico DOCG Planeta 2017

The Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico DOCG "Dorilli", wine produced by the Planeta company, is considered one of the historic reds of Sicily. The winery is well known for its vineyards located 60 meters above sea level and cultivated on particularly fertile soils, which undoubtedly contribute to the high quality of the grapes. The name of the wine in question is suggestively linked to the classical world: "Dorilli" in fact recalls the Dirillo river, where according to tradition Aeneas, a figure of Greek and Roman mythology, the absolute protagonist of Virgil's Aeneid, landed. The Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico DOCG "Dorilli" is obtained from 70% Nero d'Avola and 30% Frappato vines. The grapes are harvested by hand and, consequently, selected with extreme accuracy. The fermentation process of the skins in contact with the must lasts about twenty days, while the aging in oak barrels takes place for a period of about 12 months.
