Leverano Bianco DOP Vecchia Torre 2021

Leverano Bianco DOP from the Vecchia Torre winery is a white wine produced at 80% from Malvasia Bianca grapes and 20% from Chardonnay grapes. The area of origin is in the province of Lecce where this social winery is based which has 1240 members, each of whom contributes, with their own production, to the creation of high quality wines thanks to the cultivation of native and international vines including Negroamaro , Primitivo, Syrah and Trebbiano. The reference soil is characterized by alluvial sediments with a prevalence of limestone and the microclimate, sunny but sufficiently ventilated, favors a good balance of acidity. The traditional cultivation and production techniques are joined by new machinery and methodologies which contribute to giving these wines particularly appreciated organoleptic characteristics. The Leverano Bianco DOP, in particular, is born after a harvest of the grapes in the early hours of the morning and a settling and fermentation at low temperatures; its color is straw yellow, the scent is delicate and on the palate it is fresh, dry and persistent. It should be consumed young and is perfect to accompany appetizers.
