Rocca di Fabbri

The Rocca di Fabbri winery was founded in 1984 on the initiative of the entrepreneur Pietro Vitali. It is, therefore, a rather recent reality, but already today counted among the most important wineries in Umbria. The company is located in Montefalco, a municipality located in the province of Perugia, an area particularly suitable for the cultivation of vines: the mild climate combines with the calcareous composition of the soil, factors which contribute significantly to the fine quality of the grapes. One of the principles on which the estate is based is the fusion of tradition and innovation, as we rely on the techniques of the past and, at the same time, regularly renew the systems and constantly technologically improve the cellar. Criteria always respected are environmental sustainability, the optimal distribution of the cellar's resources, the harmony between man and nature. Relying on these principles, Rocca di Fabbri creates genuine, authentic wines with an intense flavor and varied aromas. The manufacturing process almost always includes refinement in oak barrels and maceration of the must in contact with the skins: a traditional method, but enriched by a continuous tension towards renewal. The company's land extends for approximately 60 hectares and is home to numerous black grape varieties. Among these, Sagrantino deserves a particular mention. After all, one of the most elegant wines produced by Rocca di Fabbri is Sagrantino di Montefalco, a rich, tannic, long-lived red. The winery often also uses Montepulciano grapes, typical of central Italy, and Sangiovese to make truly elegant, refined wines deeply linked to the territory.
