Château du Breuil

Château du Breuil
Information
Region: Normandy (France)
Address: 14 130 LE BREUIL EN AUGE France

The Château du Breuil distillery is located in Normandy and precisely in Pays d'Auge, the territory par excellence of the famous Calvados, where it was given the status of "premiere cru". Calvados is a brandy that comes from the distillation of pears or apples and which boasts a long history, starting with the birth of the name which seems more of Spanish than French origin. One of the theories on its origin would be linked to the shipwreck of a galleon of the Spanish army on the coast of Normandy, during the war with France. The inhabitants of the region considered this event as a favorable omen in turning the war in their favor and gave the distillate the name of the galleon. Returning to the present day, the AOC is the certification that is granted to Calvados Pays d'Auge only if they follow precise rules that ensure its high quality. Château du Breuil is a building of historical interest surrounded by a beautiful park with centuries-old trees and large expanses of apple trees used for the production of Calvados, the main product of this company. The quality of the apples is an essential element for the excellent success of the distillate and Normandy is able to ensure harvests characterized by high standards. Among the most important spirits of the Château du Breuil company are the Fine Calvados, the Calvados Reserve du Château 8 Ans d'Age, the Calvados Réserve des Seigneurs XO 20 Ans d'Age and the flagship product the Calvados Royal "Age d 'Now"
