Andrian

1893: this is the date of foundation of the oldest winery in Alto Adige. Precisely in that year, in fact, the winemakers of Andrian, a small town located on the valley floor of the Adige river, decided to take a truly revolutionary step for the time, that is, to come together and join forces to create the first cooperative winery in the region. A project that would then see, in the following decades, many clones, many different realities come together and create cooperative realities that today shine all over the world for the quality of their wines.
From the beginning, the search for production quality was the main objective of the new (for the time) reality. And the attention to progress, technology and development becomes obsessive, this to guarantee continuity, as indicated by the motto of the winery itself. And precisely from this philosophy came the merger with the Terlano winery in 2008, which today represents the thinking head of the entire structure, a reality whose wines are consolidated and appreciated in the world of wine, on an international level. The vineyards of the contributing members surround the city of Bolzano; here the subsoil is qualitatively suited to the quality of the grapes, here the vineyards extend over an area of approximately 80 hectares, at a height varying between 260 and 340 meters above sea level; it is an area characterized by a unique microclimate, which ensures each bunch has the right level of acidity, giving freshness and concentrating the most intense and elegant aromas. Among these rows, the varieties that best adapt to the area are cultivated, such as Pinot Blanc, Lagrein, Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot and Pinot Noir. Andrian gives rise, every year, to different labels, divided between the more "classic" line ” and that of “selections”. These are clear and crystalline expressions of the territory, capable of telling the centuries-old history of South Tyrolean winemaking with sincerity and dedication.
