The Sirch winery has solid Friulian origins through the family of the same name which has been cultivating its land on the Italian-Slovenian border for three generations. A small local winery that has grown, year after year, to today become a splendid reality on an international level. The SIRCH vineyards concentrate the immense richness of different histories and geographies in a single territory. On one side, the Judrio river marks the Italian-Slovenian border and on the other the Natisone river defines the renowned DOC area of Friuli Colli Orientali (COF). SIRCH thus unites, with its labels, a long history of geographical and cultural borders. Native grapes alternate with international ones, experience combines with innovation and the style of SIRCH wines is born. The white wines, always representative of Friulian pride, are flanked by the structured and complex reds. The SIRCH winery is located in the DOC Colli Orientali Friuli (COF) territory. These are hills with an altitude between 100 and 350 meters above sea level, homogeneous both in terms of climatic conditions and geological origin. The Julian Alps, located behind, protect the area from the cold currents of the North, while the Adriatic Sea, which opens in front, guarantees beneficial and constant ventilation. The soils are made up of an alternation, called "ponca" in Friulian, of marl (lime and calcareous clay) and sandstone (cemented sand) dating back thousands of years. From here comes the balance of these splendid wines which combine a strong structure with elegance, flavor with harmony, all supported by a long final aromatic persistence. Within the DOC, the varieties of wines produced by SIRCH range from the so-called "international" vines such as Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon, Traminer Aromatico, Pinot Nero and Merlot, to the native vines: Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, Schioppettino and Refosco dal Peduncolo Red. In the ancient village of Cladrecis, in the municipality of Prepotto, the most important, structured, complex and long-lived wines are produced.
