Giorgio Meletti Cavallari

Founded in 2002, Giorgio Meletti Cavallari's farm is located in Tuscany, along the beautiful Tyrrhenian coast and located within one of the most suitable and well-known areas for the production of red wines in Italy , the DOC Bolgheri. Giorgio is the son of an artist, born among the vineyards of Podere Grattamacco, one of the most prestigious wineries of the denomination, but he chose the path of autonomy in 2002, when he was only 24 years old, starting from the planting of the first vineyards, up to to the construction of the cellar. The company now includes eight hectares of private vineyards and a brand new farmhouse, with an adjoining wine shop, along the famous Bolgheri road. Among the most common vines in the company's land we find Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Merlot for the red grapes and Vermentino and Viognier for the white grapes, all as indicated by the Bolgheri DOC specification. All the vineyards are planted at medium-high density, to allow the vines to bear few fruits, but all of excellent quality, while cultivation takes place using techniques that respect the environment and the surrounding nature; the harvest is rigorously carried out by hand, to guarantee maximum integrity of the bunches and a careful and scrupulous selection. All the vines are located on two separate territories, the Vallone Vineyard and the Piastraia Vineyard; This separation was intended to allow the growth of the vineyards in two areas with different peculiarities to maximize the valorization of the terroir. All the wines are made following criteria that are inspired by respect and protection of the environment and the territory, they are characterized by the strong link between the wine and the personality of the producer, this is well highlighted by the IMPRONTE label. The wines try to offer the consumer pleasantness and elegance, in short the full expression of the great tradition of Bolgheri. There are two wines produced in particular, the Bolgheri Rosso “Borgeri” and the Bolgheri Rosso Superiore “Impronte”, both characterized by a marked elegance and great refinement.
