Mustilli

When you say Mustilli, you say Falanghina. It is in fact Leonardo, the founder of the winery, who discovered, relaunched and valorised for the first time this ancient vine of the Campania tradition: for this reason, he is unanimously considered the father and discoverer of this extraordinary grape. In fact, the first bottle produced by this company dates back to 1979. At the time, the "fashion" of replacing local, unknown varieties of grapes, often difficult to drink and difficult to grow, was in vogue, with the most appreciated and renowned international varieties, such as Chardonnay, Pinot, Merlot, Cabernet. Leonardo acted in the completely opposite direction, deciding to replant them in the hope of keeping the local tradition alive. With passion and qualitative objectives, the result arrived within a few years and even today his wines represent a flag and a symbol of the whole of Sannio. Today it is the daughters Paola and Anna Chiara who manage and develop the precious heritage of the winery, certainly with an eye towards the future. The division of roles is important: Paola takes care of the commercial aspect, while Anna Chiara follows the production, supported by the oenologist Fortunato Sebastiano. The main headquarters of the winery remains in the historic family building, where the ancient cellars dug into the tuff at about 15 meters deep are still located today. Here rest the Reserves, the fine wines that have contributed to the history of this winery. The proposal of Mustilli labels is divided into "Selezioni" and "Classici": the latter can be recognized on the label because they portray the symbols of the city of S.Agata dei Goti in a particularly stylized and modern version, while the Selezioni, therefore the wines more intense, structured and long-lived, they have depictions where artistic works of the past are transfigured in a modern key, in the footsteps of current pop icons. Mustilli is a point of reference in Campania and its wines must all be tasted!
