Grattamacco

The brothers Maria Iris and Claudio Tipa, who have always shared a passion for nature and great wines, have realized their dream by creating a "Domaine" in Tuscany. Today's ColleMassari includes three estates: since 1998 the Castello di ColleMassari , since 2002 the Podere Grattamacco and since 2011 the Fattoria Poggio di Sotto .

Grattamacco 
It was born at the end of the 70s and is included in the Bolgheri DOC where it promptly captures the market's interest in this new cradle of Cabernet Sauvignon in Italy. The first vintage produced is from 1982, the result of a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with Sangiovese and Merlot.
The name of the winery derives from the word "macco" whose Etruscan meaning is "iron": its soils were in fact Etruscan mines and are very rich in minerals. Today it represents one of the strong points in Tuscany for the production of Bolgheri wines. Thanks to the help of the oenologist Luca Marrone and with the consultancy of Maurizio Castelli, Grattamacco demonstrates from year to year the consistent quality of its products, elegant and refined, perfectly representative of their area of origin. Among the various wines in the range, the Grattamacco Bolgheri Superiore undoubtedly stands out, the first Bolgheri to contain a significant amount of Sangiovese, a choice that has given truly high aromas and aging potential.
