Tradition and innovation: two concepts well rooted in the way of living and working of the Pellizzatti Perego family, now in their second generation in the management of this splendid winery, taken over and re-founded in 1984 by Arturo Pellizzatti Perego (this is where the acronym comes from AR.PE.PE.) after a glorious past in the marketing of local wine (since 1860). Today it is a dynamic and constantly evolving winery, run by Isabella and Emanuele, Arturo's children. Although young, they represent the new interpretation of Chiavennasca, or Nebbiolo di Valtellina: strong link with tradition, great technical innovations in the vineyard and in the cellar to give life to wines with great personality. Respect for tradition and the integrity of the heritage of the family vineyards; only in this way was it possible to keep alive the line traced by Arturo, in the wake of modernity. For this reason it was also decided to make eco-sustainable choices, with limited impact on the environment: clear evidence of this is the use of geothermal energy, which exploits natural geological heat and with which Ar.Pe.Pe regulates the temperatures of the entire production structure. This, and other projects, are examples of the love that the Pellizzatti have for their land, Valtellina. The wines spend years of slow evolution in wooden barrels, until the final bottling, strictly marked by the phases of the moon, as Arturo, the founder, preached. And it is important to remember that significant time, perseverance and resources are invested in the traditional aging of Nebbiolo in this cellar, with the awareness that only time and the right wood can refine, refine and make these splendid wines sumptuous and complex. Let us not forget, in any case, that in Valtellina what is defined as Heroic Viticulture develops, that is, the cultivation of vines in the mountains, fraught with difficulty, risk, very hard work to complete a complex project, extremely demanding, but which fills of pride when the results achieved are recognised, appreciated and certified by the best national and international competitions and awards.
