Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC Valmaggiore is an intense red wine produced by the Piedmontese winery Mario Marengo . It is obtained from the exclusive vinification of grapes of the native Nebbiolo variety. On the vineyards located in Valmaggiore, near Vezza d'Alba, the vines enjoy the optimal conditions guaranteed by one of the most appreciated terroirs of the Roero. With a view to preserving these characteristics, interventions and the use of synthetic products are limited until the harvest with manual selection of the best bunches. When they arrive in the cellar, the grapes are pressed and then left to ferment with indigenous yeasts inside large thermo-conditioned steel tanks. For refinement, the company focuses on fine French oak barrels, where the wine remains for about 10 months, acquiring complex scents. Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC Valmaggiore is a wine that can be enjoyed with pleasure immediately, as well as after a further evolution of 4-5 years.
