'Polissena' Sangiovese Valdarno di Sopra DOC Il Borro 2017

Polissena Sangiovese Valdarno di Sopra DOC is an intense and fragrant red wine, made by the Tuscan winery Il Borro . It is obtained from the vinification of only Sangiovese grapes, an autochthonous vine which represents the most genuine soul of these areas. The plots are located about 350 meters above sea level and stand on land that offers the vines good drainage and optimal nourishment. When they reach the ideal degree of ripeness, the bunches are selected and harvested by hand. Once in the cellar, the grapes are de-stemmed and pressed. Fermentation with maceration on the skins lasts for three weeks and takes place in steel tanks. For the refinement, the company relies on precious second passage Allier oak barriques, where the wine rests for a year. Polissena Sangiovese Valdarno di Sopra DOC is a red that can be tasted with pleasure immediately, as well as following a further evolution of 3-4 years.
