From Martinique, a splendid island in the French Antilles in the Caribbean, comes this Rhum Agricole Blanc Martinique Clément Rhum 70 Cl. La Clement is one of the oldest distilleries in the region with approximately 100 hectares of land, an impressive colonial house (national monument) and the distillery. Here rum has been produced in the historic Acajou sugar cane plantations since 1887, when Homere and Charles Clement started the business. The distillation continues to be done with artisanal procedures and methods according to tradition. Rhum Clement has earned the Appellation d'Origine Controlée of Martinique and the maison is often visited by famous people including George Bush and Francois Mitterand. Made with first quality unaged sugar cane, cut exclusively by hand, this Rhum Agricole Blanc Martinique Clément Rhum 70 Cl releases all the intense aroma of the Caribbean. Aging takes place in oak barrels for several months. The result is an intense, warm, complex, soft but not particularly demanding product, also excellent for quality cocktails.
