'On the Volcano' Etna Rosso DOC Donnafugata 2019

From the northern slope of Etna, an amazing wine, produced with an autochthonous grape of extraordinary quality: the Nerello Mascalese. This vine, abandoned for years to its fate, has recently been rediscovered and re-evaluated by more important Sicilian (and not only) producers who quickly bought land in the area and created their most prestigious labels and was, even more, compared to the great and noble grapes of the great aging wines, such as Nebbiolo for example. With a light ruby red colour, Sul Vulcano Etna Rosso DOC offers an elegant bouquet with notes of wild berries and floral hints; delicate nuances of cinnamon and nutmeg are added. Excellent taste-olfactory correspondence with a good freshness and a well-present tannin (being one of its main characteristics), but harmonious. Long and balanced in the finish, of rare elegance.
