Glass
It is the perfect glass for structured, intense, aged red wines or potentially suitable for refinement; this type of wine certainly needs to "open" (that means to better develop its aromatic, intense and complex profile) and this is possible by the prolonged contact with oxygen (oxygenation) which, in fact, is facilitated by the generous cup size.

Description

The Cecubo Roccamonfina IGT Villa Matilde is made by assembling grapes from ancient red berried vines, the Primitivo, the Piedirosso and other native grapes of the Caserta area, in Campania. Inspired by a red wine already appreciated by the ancient Romans, the Cecubo Roccamonfina IGT Villa Matilde is produced by the Fattoria Villa Matilde winery in the lands of San Castrese and Parco Nuovo. Here, at the foot of the no longer active volcano of Roccamonfina, in the province of Caserta, 70 hectares of vineyards are cultivated. The terroir finds its maximum expression in these volcanic lands. Protected from the wind and harsh climate, the grapes reach ideal ripeness. The minerality of the soil, rich in phosphorus and potassium, combines with brackish and marine elements to give life to a full and structured wine. The bunches are harvested by hand and only the first quality ones are left to ferment. It ages in Allier oak barriques for about 12 months. Dark and dense red in color with an unmistakable scent of plums, berries, vanilla and cocoa accompanied by strong notes of licorice and tobacco and delicate hints of dried figs. The taste is full, structured and elegant. Ready immediately, but potentially suitable for long aging in the bottle.
