Tenuta Masseto's Masseto is one of the best (if not the best) territorial expressions of the Bolgheri area: a wine that fully falls within the so-called 'super Tuscan', great reds which are, to all effects, considered the stars of the world wine scene. Such is the qualitative level of Masseto that it is even contested in international auctions, given the very limited quantity produced and the obsessive agronomic and cellar practices. This intense and balanced red is obtained through a very careful selection of each individual Merlot grape, which is harvested manually after careful research and vinified alone. The production process then continues with an alcoholic fermentation of the grapes and a maceration on the skins. All this ends with a total period of three years of aging in oak barrels. The result is a rare oenological pearl, a complex wine to be tasted in all its facets. Finally, Masseto is a wine of considerable longevity: it can also be enjoyed young, but it is at its best if left to rest in the cellar, where it can also age for decades. Status symbol.
