'Plus' Venezia Giulia IGT Friulano Bastianich 2019

The Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC Plus wine is a great and renowned "terroir" white offered by the prestigious Bastianich winery; a reality created by the well-known entrepreneur and television personality Joe Bastianich, with family origins and roots right in Friuli; the company is located in Cividale del Friuli and produces great wines by combining the love for local winemaking traditions and that for cutting-edge technologies. This label takes shape from the vinification of 100% Friulian grapes (tocai), the fruit of a single vineyard with vines that are over 70 years old. The plants grown on the hills, in a limestone-based soil, also enjoy excellent exposure. All these elements together contribute to the production of excellent grapes. The Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC Plus comes from different harvest periods and different vinifications. The first harvest is carried out when the grapes are ripe, while the second harvest is later and takes place in several passages with at least 50% botrytised grapes. Two distinct fermentations follow, at the end of which the wines obtained are blended and bottled. Once in glass, before being marketed, the Plus is left to mature for a year. The end result is a structured, intense, elegant, balanced white, a label with a rich sip and excellent persistence. A truly noteworthy white and worthy heir to the Friulian "bianchista" tradition.
