Glass
It is the perfect goblet for white wines with good structure and intensity; this type of wine certainly needs to "open" (that means to better develop its aromatic, intense and complex profile and this is possible by contact with oxygen (oxygenation) which, in fact, is facilitated by the generous dimensions of the chalice.

Description

The Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC Vespa Bianco white wine is the flagship of the Bastianich winery in Friuli; an important wine business created by the well-known American restaurateur and television personality Joe Bastianich, who with his vineyards cultivated in the Friuli Colli Orientali DOC area, offers enthusiasts high quality wines. This terroir label with great longevity takes shape from a blend of Chardonnay (45%), Sauvignon Blanc (45%) and Picolit (10%) grapes, the fruit of vineyards grown on calcareous soils in the hills of Buttrio, Premariacco and Cividale, areas of absolute prestige for white wines. After the harvest, carried out by hand in boxes, carried out at different times, depending on the variety of the fruit and its ripeness, the bunches are selected on sorting benches and then softly pressed. Subsequently, the varieties that make up the Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC Vespa Bianco ferment separately and for a long time in wood and steel, after which the wines produced are blended, bottled, and finally matured in the bottle for a year. It is precisely from longevity that the Vespa Bianco has made its strength and built its future, splendid destiny, still giving us qualitative expressions that make us dream. Thanks to the elegance conferred by Chardonnnay, the structure provided by Sauvignon, harvested late and the creaminess given by Picolit, this wine represents the enological sum for a Friulian blend and is rightly considered one of the best whites in Italy. "Its minerality is incredible, which elevates it vertically and gives it extraordinary freshness. In the mouth, all the complexity, enveloping, silkiness and structure of the wine expand with incredible finesse and elegance, giving life to sensations of caressing voluptuousness. Incredible when aged for several (ten and more) years.Wine that goes perfectly with coquillages and shellfish even if it calmly faces any type of white meat and structured preparation (even smoked).Unrepeatable if enjoyed alone, perhaps after a hard day's work …" (JB)
