Burdese Sicilia Menfi DOC Planeta 2018

Burdese Sicilia Menfi DOC is a full-bodied red wine produced by the Planeta winery, one of the winemaking excellences of the region. The name of the label pays homage to the classic Bordeaux blend, "burdese" in the local dialect, which is found in the blend composed largely of Cabernet Sauvignon with the addition of 30% Cabernet Franc. The vines cultivated with the spurred cordon system enjoy temperatures and breezes that are ideal for giving life to grapes of great structure and finesse. At the beginning of September, the manual harvest allows us to identify the best bunches, which are then transported to the cellar for vinification. The alcoholic fermentation involves contact with the skins for about three weeks, while the malolactic fermentation takes place both in wood and in steel. The refinement takes place in Allier barrels, where the wine remains for one year and two months. Burdese Sicilia Menfi DOC is a red that lends itself to long evolutions, over 10 years, if stored with care.
