'Conte Hugues Grand Cru' Chardonnay Terre Siciliane IGT Rapitalà 2020

The Chardonnay Grand Cru Terre Siciliane IGT is one of the most prestigious proposals made by Rapitalà, an important reality on the Sicilian scene. The wine is a surprising marriage between the French and Italian wine worlds, since the company was founded in 1968 by the Count de la Gatinais in the Belice Valley. The guyot rows are located in the province of Palermo, at a height of about 450 meters and on soils with a good sandy-clayey content. The vines that distinguish the estates are of transalpine origin and, in particular, represented by Chardonnay. At the beginning of September the harvest begins, with the choice of the best bunches and their destemming. The must obtained from pressing is decanted, after which alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel containers. The wine is then decanted into oak barrels for at least 10 months before bottling. Light and bright golden yellow colour. The nose opens with ample and fruity sensations typical of the vine, yellow apple, peach and banana, with a light savory note and hints of sweet vanilla spices. The taste is soft and enveloping, structured and rich in returns of aromatic herbs in a wide satisfying gustatory spectrum, with a long and persistent finish in which Sicilian citrus fruits overlook. The Chardonnay Grand Cru Terre Siciliane IGT is a wine of great personality and broad structure, refined and decidedly elegant in every sip.
