'Lautonis' Casavecchia Terre del Volturno IGT Bio Il Verro 2018

Lautonis Casavecchia Terre del Volturno IGT Bio is a structured red wine produced by the Terre del Volturno winery in Campania. It is obtained from the vinification of grapes of the rare Casavecchia local variety, whose name derives from the discovery of some specimens next to a ruined house. From the early years of the twentieth century, the grape variety spread only in the area near Caserta was rediscovered and valorised also thanks to the action of this winery. Among the rows, the work is inspired by the rigorous principles of organic agriculture, which allows the ecosystem to be preserved. Once ripe, the healthiest bunches are harvested by hand and transported to the cellar. The spontaneous fermentation with temperature control is followed by the refinement phase, which takes place inside wooden barrels and continues for 5-6 months until bottling. Lautonis Casavecchia Terre del Volturno IGT Bio is a red capable of surprising right away, or after a further rest of 4-5 years.
