The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo of the renowned Emidio Pepe winery is a terroir wine, a thick product made following the production philosophy of the Triple A association. The result is a label processed with the artisan methods of the past, using only and exclusively indigenous yeasts, without the use of chemistry and with the highest respect for the ancient Abruzzo winemaking tradition. Result of the vinification of Montepulcino d'Abruzzo in purity, this biodynamic wine well tells the territory of origin. The strictly hand-operated harvest is followed by careful destemming of the selected bunches and spontaneous fermentation in vitrified cement tanks, after which the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is left to mature in the same tanks for 24 months. After which it is bottled by hand without any filtration. Subsequently it is left to refine still in the bottle and, before being placed on the market, it is manually decanted from one bottle to another. The result is an elegant, soft, persistent and well structured wine, an excellent red drunk now and more than surprising if left to mature in the cellar for several years.
