Description

Benevento Moscato di Baselice IGT is one of the sweet dessert wines of Masseria Frattasi. The Masseria Frattasi was born in the small Montesarchio, in Campania; here, on soils rich in marl and clay, up to a thousand meters above sea level, top quality local and international vines are grown. Benevento Moscato di Baselice IGT is produced entirely from Moscato grapes, grown at about seven hundred meters above sea level (!), combining technological innovation and traditional cultivation methods. Few bunches, an excellent raw material, after the grapes are dried in the lofts, the must obtained is kept in barriques for at least two years, then bottled and further refined in the bottle. The cultivation of mountain Moscato is a challenge, low yields, drying in fruit cellars with bunch by bunch selection, from 40 quintals of grapes only two barriques are obtained. Following the manual harvest, carried out during the month of September, the selected grapes are transferred to the cellar to dry, before being pressed; the juice thus obtained is transferred to French barriques, where it remains to mature for about two years. The Moscato is finally bottled and left to refine further before being put on sale. The final product is a fine and delicate wine, with aromas of ripe apricot, floral notes of ripe fruit on a broom base. Full and juicy in its minerality to the taste, fresh, with a long persistence.
