Pinot Nero Vigna Maso Reiner Alto Adige DOC from the Kettmeir winery was born at the foot of the Dolomites. The South Tyrolean company was born in 1919 from an idea of Giuseppe Kettmeir, then picked up by his nephew Franco. After 100 years of history, it has continued the search for tradition without renouncing modernity. The area where the vines grow, at an altitude of 350-400 meters above sea level, has soils of calcareous origin, rich in organic substances, and the Dolomites protect the grapes from Atlantic frosts. This red wine is produced from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. The red vinification begins with maceration on the skins, first at low temperatures then with a progressive increase up to 27°C. The refinement takes place in wooden barrels for about 15-18 months. Pinot Nero Vigna Maso Reiner Alto Adige DOC is a soft and balanced wine. It is certainly ready to drink, but has characteristics such as to allow interesting evolutions if stored correctly in the cellar, even for 5-8 years. Ruby red colour, with a fine bouquet, characteristic of the vine, with hints of wild berries, cherry and nuances of vanilla and tobacco. The taste is dry, soft, with a persistent aftertaste and a slightly spicy finish. It goes perfectly with feathered game dishes, braised and roasted red meat, tasty legume soups, medium-aged cheeses and smoked salami.
