Recommended glass

Large Goblet
Glass
It is the perfect boblet for red wines with good structure and intensity; this type of wine certainly needs to "open" (that means to better develop its aromatic, intense and complex profile) and this is made possible by contact with oxygen (oxygenation) which, in fact, is facilitated by the generous dimensions of the chalice.

This wine is ready to be tasted now, with great satisfaction; however, it has qualities that allow it to evolve and refine over time, if properly stored, for at least another 2-3 years.

Description

The Etna Rosso DOC Contrada Diciassettesalme is a valuable product of the Cottanera winery, an authentic point of reference for Sicilian winemaking. The company is located in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia, on the slopes of Etna, whose temperate climate greatly favors the cultivation of vines. The very nature of the soil, volcanic, alluvial and rich in mineral salts, lends itself optimally to viticulture. The cellar, surrounded by a suggestive mountain landscape, creates wines capable of fully expressing the value of the land and of tradition. The particular name is linked to the district that hosts the vine, the Contrada Diciassettesalme, which indicates its extension of 25 hectares, corresponding to 17 Salme, an old Sicilian unit of measurement. The Etna Rosso DOC Contrada Diciassettesalme has a soft body and extraordinary persistence. This wine is obtained through a process of fermentation with indigenous yeasts and aging in French oak barrels; the strictly manual harvest takes place in the first days of October. Nerello Mascalese is used as a vine, native to the slopes of Etna and a clear symbol of its territory. It is a red with an intense color and fine tannins, intense and structured, which brings with it the scents of the Sicilian volcanic earth.
