Glass
It is the perfect glass for structured, intense, aged red wines or potentially suitable for refinement; this type of wine certainly needs to "open" (that means to better develop its aromatic, intense and complex profile) and this is possible by the prolonged contact with oxygen (oxygenation) which, in fact, is facilitated by the generous cup size.

This wine is ready to be tasted now, with great satisfaction; however, it has qualities that allow it to evolve and refine over time, if properly stored, for at least another 7-8 years.

Description

The Etna DOC red wine from the Benanti winery is produced from vineyards that are cultivated on the slopes of the homonymous volcano, precisely in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia. It is one of the most traditional wineries that has its roots even in the nineteenth century. The production tends to fully exploit the native vines of this area: this wine is in fact obtained using exclusively Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes. The production of the Etna DOC red wine follows a precise disciplinary starting from the harvest which is done by hand, in the second half of the month of October when the grapes have reached a good degree of ripeness. The red vinification precedes the maturation which takes place in small wooden barrels for a period ranging from 8 to 10 months before the subsequent refinement in the bottle. The result is a wine with excellent structure and particularly intense and overall harmonious and elegant.
