Le Ragose

Le Ragose is located in Valpolicella and is spread over an area of approximately 18 hectares of vineyards; preference is certainly given to native vines such as Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella which are therefore the main protagonists of the area's wines, to which is added a very small percentage of the vineyard destined for Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery is located in Arbizzano di Negrar, therefore not far from the splendid city of Verona. In these splendid places, in 1969 Arnaldo Galli, a winemaker, decided, together with his wife Marta, to purchase a few hectares of land to begin the production of wines under the name of "Le Ragose", the hamlet in which the cellar is located. Today, almost fifty years later, Arnaldo's sons, Paolo and Marco, are carrying forward a path that aims to combine innovation and experimentation with the typical characteristics of the great red wines that see the light in this area of the Veneto: we talk about Amarone, Ripasso, Valpolicella Classico and Recioto. Paolo mainly deals with commercial development, while Marco, agronomist and oenologist, carefully follows the production phase. The vineyards are in an ideal place to enjoy the breezes that blow between the hills, perfect for encouraging the drying that is fundamental for the creation of Amarone. After careful selection work in the vineyard, in the cellar the fermentations take place thanks to indigenous yeasts and the refinements are carried out in oak barrels of different capacities and ages, to ensure that the characteristics of the terroir emerge predominantly. The Le Ragose winery produces exclusively red wines. Unique labels, which reflect the territory and which are an expression of the great work and passion of Paolo and Marco Galli. Bottles in line with the great tradition of Valpolicella.
