Domenico Clerico

Domenico, in love with his land and aware of its enormous potential, decided to start producing wine on his own in 1978, inheriting from his father 3 hectares of vineyards and a small farm which until then had no professional ambitions. We are in Monforte d'Alba, in the heart of the Langhe, and in the space of a few years Domenico gave life to one of the most virtuous realities of the Langhe. He grasps and understands the secrets of the "old" Langhe people, so he begins to buy vineyards in the best crus in the area, in order to obtain extraordinary Barolos. In 1977 Domenico Clerico purchased a small vineyard in the heart of Bussia, then in 1983 another in the Ginestra cru and in '95 a third vineyard in the Mosconi cru. Strengthened by the advice received, Domenico becomes the owner of land located between 150 and 450 meters above sea level, with a south-west exposure, because the experience gained, from generation to generation, teaches that those are the best conditions for obtaining excellent grapes. And only from excellent grapes can you have excellent wines! The Barolos from the Domenico Clerico winery are extraordinary wines, all different from each other, which faithfully reflect the characteristics of the terroirs from which they come, that is, of the individual Crus such as Ciabot Mentin, Pajana, Percristina and Aeroplanservaj. Award-winning labels revered in many countries around the world. Domenico Clerico's company, which above all best interprets the Nebbiolo vine, obtaining wines with extraordinary olfactory aromas, noble on the palate and infinite in persistence. Without obviously forgetting Barbera and Dolcetto: wines that worthily complement the highlights represented by the extraordinary Barolos.
