The Morellino di Scansano from the Podere 414 winery is a particularly representative wine of its territory, Tuscany and to be precise Maremma Grossetana, where the company's vineyards are located. The Sangiovese, Alicante, Colorino and Ciliegiolo vines, all native, have found, on the hills not far from the sea, the most suitable terroir for their development and correct maturation also counting on organic cultivation, adopted by the Podere 414 winery. This Morellino di Scansano is produced by blending 85% Sangiovese, 10% Colorino and other local vines for the remainder. Fermentation takes place in steel vats and then follows maceration for up to 20 days with continuous mixing by hand. The aging is in oak barrels and lasts 12 months. The result is a fresh and persistent wine, with an intense ruby red color whose taste is made softer by the permanence in barrels. It can be drunk immediately or left to rest for up to 4 years in the cellar. It's great for meals and it's advisable to open it about 20 minutes before consumption to allow the right oxygenation.
