'Plumbago' Nero d'Avola Sicily DOC Planeta 2020

Plumbago Nero d'Avola Sicilia DOC is a fragrant and intense red wine, produced by the Sicilian winery Planeta , one of the greatest interpreters of viticulture in the denomination and in the whole of Sicily. It is obtained from the vinification of Nero d'Avola grapes, a red grape variety with an intense and unmistakable color. The flower that gives the wine its name grows spontaneously among the rows of vines. This is the plot of Ulmo in the province of Agrigento where the conditions for the vines are ideal thanks to the substrates rich in minerals and the strong temperature variations. At the end of the harvest phase, the bunches are transported to the cellar where the fermentation on the skins lasts for two weeks. The wine ages for about 8 months in oak barriques on the third and fourth passage and then rests for another 6 months in glass after bottling. Plumbago Nero d'Avola Sicilia DOC can be appreciated immediately as well as after a couple of years of careful storage in the cellar.
