'Poggio ai Merli' Toscana IGT Castellare di Castellina 2019

Poggio ai Merli Toscana IGT is a full-bodied red wine produced by the Castellare di Castellina winery. It is obtained from the exclusive vinification of Merlot grapes, an international vine that reaches excellent levels in the Chianti area. Cultivated with the espalier system, the vines rise about 400 meters above sea level and place their roots on substrates rich in limestone. The meticulous work carried out between the rows culminates in the rigorous manual harvest. Only the healthiest and ripest bunches reach the cellar, where they are delicately pressed and then left to ferment spontaneously for about three weeks. For the aging phase, the company relies on new barriques, in which the wine remains for about two and a half years before being bottled. Excellent right from the start, Poggio ai Merli Toscana IGT boasts a considerable potential for evolution over a few years.
