'Prelit Rosso' Venezia Giulia IGT Podversic Damijan 2018

Prelit Rosso Venezia Giulia IGT is a structured red wine, produced by the Damijan Podversic winery, a reality that stands out for its artisanal approach. It is obtained from grapes of two international varieties, namely Merlot (70%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (30%). The two vines are grown in the shade of Monte Calvario, where the owned vineyards are rooted in calcareous soils of karst origin. During the harvest, only the best bunches are selected and picked by hand towards the end of September. In the cellar, the grapes are destemmed and placed in wooden vats for a long spontaneous fermentation which includes maceration on the skins and does not include temperature control. The refinement lasts almost two years and takes place in large oak barrels, to then continue for another year in glass after bottling. Prelit Rosso Venezia Giulia IGT is a wine that boasts considerable potential for further evolution and improvement up to ten years.
