    Chardonnay

    Chardonnay is one of the most widespread white grape varieties in the world: a true enological legend, a synthesis of opulence and elegance. It has conquered the whole globe for its prestige, for the ease with which it gives good harvests, basically everywhere. Some examples of its versatility? Let's start with the king of sparkling wines, Champagne: Blanc de Blancs is produced with only Chardonnay grapes. Still in France, the best Chardonnays are in Montrachet and Meursault, more structured and spicy, or the Chablis, more relaxed, without the slightest trace of barrique. On the contrary, in cooler climates, for example in New Zealand, Chardonnay manages to develop all its citrus and tropical charge and an unprecedented freshness. In Italy, the areas of choice are Friuli and Alto Adige, with Sicily offering more structured Chardonnays, with important refinements in barriques. In short, there are few vines that leave such a wide choice of interpretations to winemakers and, to the enthusiast, an infinite range of proposals and nuances!
