Abracadabra Liquirizia di Calabria PDO is a flavored liqueur produced by Vecchio Magazzino Doganale . It is obtained exclusively from fragrant licorice roots, one of the most representative raw materials of the Calabrian territory. Licorice is grown in a respectful way, as required by the specification in which it is inserted as a recognized local excellence. With the method, of very ancient origins, used by the company to boil the roots, it is possible to obtain a defibration which makes the subsequent squeezing of the licorice much easier. At this point the roots are cut into small pieces, which are poured into an alcoholic infusion that contains brown sugar. The maturation times of the infusion are never less than 20 days. The liqueur rests just under 2 months in the bottle before being marketed. Abracadabra Liquirizia di Calabria DOP is a liqueur to be served as a digestive, but also to be mixed in drinks, which can be enjoyed many years after bottling.
