Glass
It is the perfect glass for structured, intense, aged red wines or potentially suitable for refinement; this type of wine certainly needs to "open" (that means to better develop its aromatic, intense and complex profile) and this is possible by the prolonged contact with oxygen (oxygenation) which, in fact, is facilitated by the generous cup size.

Description

The original and most powerful expression of Penfolds' multi-vineyard, multi-district philosophy, Grange is unquestionably Australia's most celebrated wine and has officially been named as a Heritage Icon of South Australia. Crafted using ripe, intensely aromatic and textured Shiraz grapes, the result is a unique Australian style that is now recognized as one of the finest wines in the world. The story of Grange and its legendary winemaker Max Schubert is a modern fairy tale, a challenge over time. It begins with a trip to Bordeaux in 1949, where the idea of a wine "capable of remaining alive for a minimum of twenty years" first entered Schubert's mind. His first experimental vintage in 1951 initiated a new way of thinking about wines in Australia that would eventually lead to a signature wine style. After careful harvesting, the vinification takes place in steel and the refinement of 20 months in 100% new American oak barrels. With an unbroken line of 1951 vintages, Grange clearly demonstrates the extraordinary synergy between Shiraz and the soil and climate of South Australia. Extraordinary!
