The Barolo DOCG Francia from the Giacomo Conterno winery was born in the Serralunga d'Alba area, one of the most fertile terroirs in the Langhe. For the blend, 100% Nebbiolo is used, grown in the Cru Francia, a 14-hectare vineyard located along the Serravalle ridge. The soils are rich in limestone, an element that gives the grapes an intense color and good aromatic complexity. The climate is mild, but characterized by the strong presence of temperature variations which favor the perfect ripening of the grapes. The harvest is preceded by a first selection of bunches which takes place during pruning. In the cellar, after a long maceration and fermentation in Austrian wooden vats, the must ages for 48 months in oak barriques of different sizes and enjoys a further rest in the bottle. Barolo DOCG Francia Conterno is a wine that can be drunk immediately or after a medium-long period of aging in the cellar, even 10 years.
