The Brigaldara agricultural company was founded in 1928 with the purchase of the mansion and the estate, approximately 120 hectares, by Renzo Cesari. Over the years, his son Lamberto continued the production activity, specializing the crops towards the wine-growing part, whose greatest impulse came in the 1980s, when the management passed into the hands of Stefano, Renzo's nephew, who was supported by winemaker Roberto Ferrarini, one of the most important innovators in the history of Amarone and the entire Valpolicella. The results were not long in coming, in fact in 1997 the Amarone di Brigaldara obtained for the first time the coveted Three glasses recognition from the Gambero Rosso Guide, the highest Italian wine recognition. In the 2000s it was perceived that the specialization of vineyards, or "zoning", represents an extremely important factor in reaching the high and inaccessible peaks of absolute quality, specializing the vineyards based on the most suitable varieties for each area: specifically Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and the rediscovered native variety of Oseleta which are the local grapes with which Valpolicella wines are produced. Today the Brigaldara agricultural company extends over over 120 hectares, of which 47 are planted with vineyards and the remaining with olive groves, crops, pastures and woods. A very important biodiversity, vital for the production cycle and beyond; an aspect that the Cesari family has decided to enhance through sustainable practices, in the vineyard and in the cellar. A team of young oenologists and agronomists are dedicated to enhancing the varietal expression of the terroirs of the various vineyard areas. It should be added that Brigaldara's relationship with the Valpolicella area does not end with wine production: alongside the vineyards, forestry is practiced, the fields and dry stone walls are looked after, the truffle grove is managed and sheep breeding is reintroduced in the vast meadows dedicated to sheep farming for centuries, a true ecosystem where everything has a function and a purpose.
